What is Ballet on Demand?

Founded by former Royal Ballet dancer and Royal Ballet School qualified teacher, Sander Blommaert, this platform was created to be accessible, affordable and fun!

So, what actually is it?

There are two parts: the learning and our community

1. Learning
Be coached by world class teachers and dancers from around the world on all that you need to know for your ballet journey. You can be at any stage, age and level to benefit from the material that we share. Some examples of our current content:

  • Audition preparation course (for entering vocational ballet schools)

  • Flexibility tutorials

  • Warm up and cool down tutorials

2. Community
Join others on their journey and share the progress that you are making, ask questions of the Ballet on Demand team, and request for specific courses that you would like to see.

In building our community we are creating a global set of dancer who can learn from one another and the content on this platform.

Frequently asked questions

You’ve got questions. We’ve got answers.

How long do I need to sign up for?

One month is the minimum subscription. We want to make this platform as accessible as possible and we understand that circumstances can change.

Do I need a studio and ballet barre?

No. Our lessons are designed to be completed in your home or anywhere that you can safely lift your leg to the front, back and side.

Do I need special flooring for these lessons?

No. It is advisable to use a cushioning material (like a thin yoga mat) for jumps but courses are designed to be done at home. If any specific equipment is needed the teacher will say at the beginning of the class.

I am just starting Ballet, is this the right platform for me?

Yes. We are building the platform to cater for all levels of ballet. Our courses will clearly describe what level they are aimed. If you are struggling with anything, we also have our community as a place to share challenges and ask for help.
